I am excited to lead the Hale Boys Cross Country Team starting in 2018. Realistically, the work starts now, which is why I am working on creating a convenient and easy to navigate website which will help display important information and celebrate results. I look forward to building a strong program, one which kids will be coached first on character, class and integrity, with great running results being an outcome of our actions. Myself and the coaches on staff will serve as guides to the positive culture, and will give the boys independence and drive to accomplish what they want.
One of our team motto's this year and going forward will be simply "The Journey". We will look to embrace each day, challenge ourselves to be better than yesterday and never look too far ahead. The time with teammates and at practice will be positive experiences that student athletes will never forget. What is learned in this sport can be transferred to all areas of life. "The Journey" is not only about what we do at practice, but also how we do in the classroom and how we treat others. Be kind for the sake of being kind, and always put in our best effort. If we put in our best effort and care for each other, we should be proud of our accomplishments no matter the results of our running. Prepare not to fail, but understand that failure is what makes us better. Hard work and always staying humble in victory and patient in defeat, will pay off in the long run.
I thank everyone for their trust and buy in to what we do in the program. We appreciate your support of the boys and I can't wait to build strong relationships with all of you this spring and summer. Every kid on the team is important to what we do, and so is every parent/guardian. Together, WE can accomplish a lot.
