Lots to celebrate this week as a team. Let's take a look at the outcomes.
JV – 8th out of 21 teams I think we did a really nice job of Overcoming (the “O” in VICTORS) on the JV side this week. We had guys battling through sickness, stress, and even one whose spikes broke during pre-race strides! Yet, they went out, competed hard, and came away with a quality performance, beating more than half the teams at the meet.
Our boys raced with a lot of purpose. At the mile mark, they were bunched near the front, ready to fight for each other — which was awesome to see.
Looking Ahead As exciting as this win was, we can’t be satisfied. If we want to achieve our goals at the end of the season, we must keep improving. Every athlete is a contributor, and each guy needs to push the next one daily. That’s how we’ll continue to grow. Practice: Normal schedule, 3:15 p.m. Monday–Friday Friday: Pasta dinner hosted by the Vahovicks- 12465 w Euclid ave Saturday – Kettle Moraine Laser Relays
Let me know if you have any questions or concerns. Looking forward to another great week! Coach Dewitt

We had some really good quality practices this week and we capped it off with a solid performance at Grant Park. Here is our team breakdown:
JV- 10th out of 13 teams Our JV squad competed admirably and our freshmen stepped up well, as four freshmen were a part of our scoring five (shout out to Landen, Dylan, Isaac and Eli!). Notably, we held off Waukesha West by 1 point, so more evidence that every point counts and we should continue to fight for each other. Nice work boys! Our Athlete of the Meet goes to a freshman who showcased valor in a very real way. Early in the race, he showed the courage to put himself in a spot that he had never been in before. Landen committed to it and had a great race, leading our JV squad and setting a new PR along the way. Congratulations to Landen Remer on being selected as our JV Athlete of the Meet and nice job for all our boys on stepping up! Varsity- 5th out of 13 teams Overall, I think we have a lot to be proud of from our boys this week. Coming off a challenging week of workouts, setting us up for the end of the season, our guys competed really admirably. Our team score wasn't that far off our team score when we won the meet last year (just about 30 points back) and we have some really nice room to grow. I'm excited about how we competed and where we are going as a team. Special congratulations to Ethan Plier and Koda Bruner on both medaling, which is always a special thing (11th and 14th place, respectively). Ethan Plier led the way for our boys and is our Athlete of the Meet for this week. He is a model of consistency for our boys and continually runs fearlessly, at both practice and in meets. Congratulations Ethan and our entire boys squad. Quality performance and bigger things to come from these boys! This week: Monday through Friday- practice at 3:15pm Practice on Friday, we will get going right away and right into our run, in order to get a bunch of kids out in time for the homecoming festivities. Looking forward to another great week! 6What a great home invitational we had on Friday evening! Here is a recap from the meet: Freshman Race We had 6 freshmen head to the line and our boys finished 7th place, out of the 18 teams who attended the meet. All 6 boys ran new personal bests and were led by Dylan Ostrowski-Neatherly in 19th place and Landen Remer in 20th. Our Boys Freshman Athlete of the Meet PR'd by over 4 minutes! That's over a minute a mile faster than last time out! James has been working hard at practice and has taken great steps already in his first few weeks on the team. Congratulations to James Kufalk on winning Athlete of the Meet for our freshman squad this week! JV Race Bringing just five guys to the line, I thought we competed well as a group. Each guy contributed and battled in the later stages of the race. Evan May led the way for us on the JV side, finishing 28th overall. For our Athlete of the Meet, we went with a guy who broke out this week at practice, challenging himself in new ways. We could see he came in this weekend with increased confidence and fitness. Weston put himself way further up at the beginning of the race, ran tough in the middle and saw the results, running a new personal best by over 4 minutes. Congratulations Weston Luckett and our whole JV crew on a great meet! Varsity Putting ourselves in good position early, our boys ran tough and finished 6th out of 18 quality teams. For perspective, that's like finishing 12-5 as a record for a team (we beat 12 teams, only lost to 5). Some great reminders here that every point matters, as we missed out on 5th by just 3 places. Overall, I'm really pleased about where we are at at this point in the season; we are in a great spot, but need to continue to improve to accomplish what we are hoping to do this season. We had 3 medalists, finishing in the top 25 at this very prestigious meet. 17th- Ethan Plier 21st- Koda Bruner 25th- Joseph Ventura As for our Athlete of the Meet, we as a coaching staff were really pumped to watch Koda take a chance in the 2nd mile and attack, moving up in the field. His big surge led to a new PR and medal at this big time meet. Congratulations to Koda and our entire varsity squad. Bigger things to come! This week, we will have practice like normal, Monday through Friday, at 3:15pm. Roemer's will be hosting our pasta party this week on Friday at 5:30pm! Their address is: 12224 W Cleveland Ave, West Allis, WI Saturday- Druckery Invite at Grant Park in South Milwaukee- bus time is 8:00am, we will leave at 8:15am Boys JV- race at 10:15am Boys varsity- race at 11:35am Awards at 12:20pm A few notes from the meet info: -Results will be on pttiming.com -It is very important that you remind your parents and fans that they may have to park on city streets if the parking lots in the park are full. This could happen as early as 9:15 am. It is much easier leaving the meet when you park on city streets. There is parking on the west side of Lake Drive. Signs will be posted on Lake Drive to show people how to get to the CC course. The south entrance to the Park by the golf course clubhouse will be closed until 12:30 pm. -Meet T-shirts will be for sale for $15. -DON’T FORGET THAT WE ARE ASKING EVERYONE (athletes, coaches, parents, & spectators) to bring one non-perishable food item for our local food pantry – South Milwaukee Human Concerns. They had a lot of water damage from the flood and have to replace their food supply. Please help us help others. Other notes: -We only have one pasta dinner available for hosting and that's next Friday! If a parent would sign up for that, that would be really cool. -Run-a-thon money is due tomorrow (Monday the 8th) -Later this season, we will attend the Laser Invitational, hosted by Kettle Moraine. They are selling their meet shirts online, to be picked up at the meet. The due date to order is next Monday (the 15th). Here is the link if you'd like to order one of those. https://bsnteamsports.com/shop/BjWPfdTRtj That's all I have for now! Looking forward to another great week of cross country! -Coach Dewitt |
