Hale XC 2024 Weeks 1 and 2!!

Great group this morning out at Minooka continuing to build fitness and team energy headed into the 2024 season!  Carrying the energy of the team, I decided I'd write our first blog for the 2024 season.  Our coaches are excited to get back to work with the team on August 19th!  I know our team is amped as well to get into competing and representing Hale XC.

One more week of summer XC...Let's make it a great week.
We will have one more week of summer runs from the park.  Let's make it a great week of training for returners, and look to have all of our frosh crew attend to get ready and used to our practice schedule for week 1!  Being ready to go day one allows coaches to keep athletes healthy and hit the ground running with solid training.  It would be awesome to have our full crew crushing it this next week.

Week 1
Monday,  8/19/2024 -  Practice at 7:45 a.m. at Hale Commons (Lockers given out to athletes)
Tuesday,  8/20/2024 -  Practice at 7:45 a.m. at Hale Commons
Wednesday,  8/21/2024 - Practice at 7:45 a.m. at Hale Commons (Mentors, bring shirt to change into) 
Thursday,  8/22/2024 - Practice at 7:45 a.m. at Hale Commons
Friday,  8/23/2024  -   8:30 a.m. leave from Hale - Return ~1:30 p.m. from Minooka Park
Saturday,  8/24/2024  -  Family Night! Athletes arrive by 5:00 p.m. please. 3k at 6:00, families stick around for post race dodgeball

Week 2
Monday 8/26/2024 - Runathon! Athletes arrive to Hale track by 8:40 p.m.
Tuesday 8/27/2024 - Practice at 7:45 a.m. at Hale Commons
Wednesday 8/28/2024 - Practice at 7:45 a.m. at Hale Commons
Thursday 8/29/2024 - Palmyra Invitational! Bus Time: 1:45 p.m. Race times of 4:00 p.m. and 5:20 p.m.
Friday 8/30/2024 - Practice at 7:45 a.m. at Hale Commons
Saturday8/31/2024 - Practice at 7:45 a.m. at Hale Commons

Week 3 (Start of School)
Monday 9/2/2024 - Practice at 6:00 p.m. at Hale Weightroom lot (Come dressed to run, no school open)
Tuesday 9/3/2024 -  First day of School! Room 108 Today for practice, practices will be 3:15 after school each day.

Runathon Reminder

The runathon is our only team fundraiser again this year.  Please ask family, friends and businesses to help support our team!  A lot of these funds are used to pay for our summer CWES camp and to keep it no up front cost for families in future years!!  We would love each athlete to raise at least $125.

For those getting sponsors on a per lap basis, I will put out how many laps athletes did the day after the event.  Fundraising money will be due the Friday after the runathon, but you can also turn in whenever you are done fundraising.  Don't be afraid to ask local businesses such as West Allis Cheese Shoppe, Oscar's, Pick N'Save, Performance Running or other businesses to support you and the team!

Order form will be handed out this year the first week -  for parents/family/friends looking to buy the team shirt and support with names on the back!

Team Roster and Family Support at Meets
Thank you Plier and Roe families for the great idea.  Prior to our first meet and after our team roster is finalized the second week, our coaches for the men's and women's programs will plan to provide families/parents a team roster with photo and grade level so you can help get to know the team and cheer loud for athletes at meets!  This will be handy especially for new families to the team.
