Pasta - 827 S 97 St Palmyra Invite Recap On a beautiful summer's afternoon, the Hale XC team put up a near perfect score of 17 points to dominate the Palmyra Invitational and kick off the season on a great note. The team focus going into the meet was to establish our 'For Us' team motto and set the tone for being a team that competes to win every week. The team did a great job setting the tone from the start, positioning themselves up front and running as a pack of 6 through the first loop of the race holding 1-6 positions. Letting loose a bit on the second half, the team ran smooth on the quiet stretches of the course and came through in solid duo groups with Elijah and Kai rolling through together followed closely by teammates John and Ethan and then shortly after by the sophomore duo of Joseph and Koda to finish the scoring.
The team also finished in the top 4 spots of the JV race. It's a different way of running had the races been separate we would have seen these young men running up front. How about three frosh scoring in their debut 5k races? Caleb claimed the overall victory, with Brody, Ethan M and Iker following in 2-4th places. Our 5th scorer was another frosh, with Evan finishing 8th overall and moving up 11 spots through the race! Here's a detailed results workbook - 2024 Results Workbook Runathon Recap Thank you parents and families for attending and making it a fun night. Also thanks for trusting the coaches as we looked to manage some unique weather conditions through the early part of the week. We kept a close eye on the weather and were lucky to run at night time in some better running conditions. As you saw we still made some major adjustments with many athletes, giving breaks, running a slower pace than previous years and shortening the run time from prior years to make sure we came out of it healthy. It turned out being a very fun night and we had some great runs! Thanks for those of you who got sponsors and some amazing donations to help the team!! It was a busy week for sure, but we are looking forward to getting into a nice consistent groove now as we start school and enter the season. *We will still take in any runathon donations, but fan shirt orders are now submitted and closed.
