Hale Distance Night returns! Friday, April 28, 2023
Only coaches may register athletes! This is a regular WIAA event and invitations are sent after everyone has entered and been approved. Anyone who has a parent or athlete register will NOT be accepted. Look for entries to be available by early March and open through Sunday, April 23rd at midnight. All entries need to be in by this deadline so we can appropriately make race sections and the final time schedule. You can update times or races up until this day as well. I will post some entries on the site as they come in, but feel free to reach out and ask which event may be best for your athletes.
Below are the entry standards to register for the event. If an athlete has hit the standard previously, you may register them. Reach out if anyone is close to see if they should run. New this year is a men's freshmen 1600! There will be no time standard set for this and we will seed based on entries.
For any questions please contact the meet director, Coach Mach at MachXC@gmail.com

Athletes are responsible to collect their hip number from the shed on the north west corner of the track. This will also be the staging area where athletes of the next race will be gathered by the clerk. Please be at the staging area 5 minutes before your race to be called to the starting line by the announcer.
The top 3 in each race should prepare to be gathered for awards and a possible interview after each race. Fun interviews will be conducted by athletes and Coach Mulrooney.
Prior to the event, I will once again post a Google Form for athletes to fill out a song request to be played during their race. We will do our best to play appropriate songs during the night.
Track Mac Timing will be timing the event. There will be a clock showing the time, but otherwise just old school competitive racing.
Athlete Entry Cost
The fee will be paid like a regular track meet through our AD who will send contract. It is a per athlete cost of $30 upon finalized entries. This will all occur AFTER your entries are finalized. The AD will have a list and send out to school for payment. There is nothing you have to do prior to registering.
Performance Running Outfitters will be collecting shoes/spikes for donation again and located on the field this year.
Come one come all!! There is NO cost for fans. We want it loud and packed. Concessions will be available.
The live feed link will be posted here.
We will welcome back Nash Merklein and Adam Weyer to take photos and race! They did an incredible job last year and we look forward to having them capture this year's moments.
Hale Distance Night 2022 Recap/Videos/Photos
Thank you to everyone who came and made it a great night! We had 71 out of 84 athletes run lifetime bests, with 79 running at least a season best! The energy was awesome and many of the top times in the state and a few national ranked times were thrown down across all the races.
