Information for the 2024 Summer Fall Season!
Please make sure you have your son registered with our AD/school well BEFORE our first practice on August 19th. A recent physical within the past 1.8 years has to be on file as well. If your son needs one please schedule that NOW. Don't wait until the first week otherwise they won't be able to practice or compete. We have options if they can't get in to their primary. Use the link below to register.

Key Notes for Parents:
Schedule/Commitment: There's a strong commitment to being part of a special team. Please be sure athletes are able to be at every meet and practice. Click the schedule to see our meet/event schedule - 2024 Schedule
Team Values: Our team values/standards have their own link on our team site! These are the foundation to our team and were talked about at our summer camp, and will be lived daily by our team each day.
Coaches: We have an awesome and knowledgeable coaching staff. Please allow the coaches to do all of the coaching and training. You can support at home by having athletes be consistent with our team standards and doing well in the classroom.
Meets: Non home meets will have bus time to take athletes. During the meets we ask families to be out on the course going crazy for the team while also allowing athletes to be together prior to and after their race for warmups and cooldown work. Please be respectful of staying away from the team tent area space during meet days prior to and after races.
All meet information, times and lineups are posted at the Monday of each week via a blog on our blog page. Most Saturday meets are in the mornings, while any Thursday/Friday meets are in the afternoon/evenings. The state meet is an overnight trip with the team going Friday morning and competing on Saturday in Wisconsin Rapids on November 2nd this year.
Meet Lineups: We are creating more opportunity each year and this year we have one weekend with two invitationals scheduled. There's a meet in Stevens Point which will offer a great early season test and opportunity for our team. That same day we have a meet at Grant Park we won last year and want to compete in again this year. We plan to run a varsity team at both and continue to build the mindset of all athletes looking to score for the team. This is going to be an awesome opportunity to compete and be challenged to be better.
All meet lineups are made by coaches and in the best interest of every kid and the team. During mid season higher training intensities, the coaches may decide to have some athletes not compete in a race, and any decision will be made in interest of keeping everyone healthy and ready to run fastest at the end of the season. We also schedule an off weekend racing for everyone prior to the Viking Invitational. Frosh/new athletes and probably everyone will compete every weekend and only athletes at higher mileage/training would be considered if a decision was made to add an additional off weekend to keep them healthy and progressing.
Shoes: A good pair of trainers will keep athletes healthy and competing. These are your every day shoes for practicing and warming up at meets. They typically last a consistent 3-4 months of training. Please feel comfortable asking coaches if shoes are a financial struggle and we are always able to help out.
Racing Shoes / Spikes: Try these on at Performance Running Outfitters and be sure to tell the person helping you that you need cross country racing shoes/spikes, these are used for race days and some workout days. Please wear your running trainers to meets then you change into racing shoes before your race.
Uniform: The team uniform will be given out prior to our first meet and will be used throughout the season.
Communication: The student athlete is responsible for communicating with coaches.
Pasta Parties: We maintain the Hale tradition of pre race pasta parties. We appreciate any families willing to host the team and I have made a sign up form with dates here. Feel free to co-op with another family. Pasta Party Sign Up
Runathon Reminder
Finally, we would love athletes to get a head start on our runathon fundraiser. Please ask family, businesses and friends to help support your son. With many having gone to CWES this year, this will help cover the cost of that for the group and keep us going in the future.
