Setting up next week a bit early due to the off weekend. It will be a great mental refresh and opportunity to gear up for an awesome October of racing.
So I'd like to keep it pretty open weekend for guys, but here's what I would like for weekend running. All guys should take at least one day off. I would like the following guys to do the associated minutes (Varsity guys will take care of business). There will be no meet up with coaches, but thinking guys can get together and get run in. I have already heard of many groups of guys planning to meet up and run which is AWESOME. Weekend runs Liam/Matthew/Ethan F/Brad/Josh/Brennan to do 45-50 minute run, can talk to each other about meeting up Sunday or doing on own. Do 6-8x 20 second strides during the last 20 minutes of the run. Kenny/Tristan/Nick/Joey/Cole/Cole same as above, 40-45 minutes. All frosh/others run of 30-35 minutes and 6-8x strides during the run either day on own (Recommend meeting up with teammates! :) ) Weeks Ahead (especially for newer parents!) We will enter October fit, fast and hopefully refreshed/eager after the off weekend of racing! We race close to home at Mccarty Park this week in our last 'regular season' invitational before conference, sectionals and state the next three weeks! Any guys not in the top 7 after conference will run in the Grant Park JV meet as the final meet of the year on Thursday, October 18th. The 7 varsity guys at the end of the year will run at sectionals on October 20th at Mitchell Park where they look to advance then to the state meet at Ridges Golf Course in Wisconsin Rapids on October 27th. Our awards banquet is planned for Tuesday, October 30th at 5:00 p.m.! This Week (October 1-7) Monday - Wednesday Normal practices 3:20 p.m. after school Thursday, October 4th - Viking Invitational at Mccarty Park! Friday - Practice @ 3:20 p.m. Saturday- Practice @ 9:00 a.m. Sunday, October 7th - Good luck to Coach Dewitt as he races in the Chicago Marathon!! He has already qualified for the Olympic Trials to be held in 2020, and will be looking to run a PR time (currently 2:17:38) against some of the best marathoners in the world!

Thank you once again parents and athletes for making the best of the situation this Saturday! We were so fortunate to get a beautiful weather day and great course to race on, and the boys did very well with the varsity and junior varsity both placing 7th overall (out of 42 teams in varsity and 27 teams in JV race!). This week we have an off weekend of racing as we prepare for October. It's going to be a nice mental and physical break from race day, and a great time to have a rest week, coming off of a great team day in Winneconne. We will still put in a great week of practice and keep progressing. Our next race will be Thursday, October 4th close by at Mccarty Park! Look closely at the week schedule below for details on practices/activities.
Lourdes Invitational Recap Nice weather, adrenaline from no bus, and a fit cross country team combined to produce a great day for the team! 24 boys had personal or season best times, but we were more proud of how we competed. The varsity and jv both took 7th overall in the large meet. We are excited to see Hale continue to move up and not settle for average! A big congratulations to Joshua Truchon for tying the all time sophomore school record of 16:14, and finishing 4th overall! Liam Kelley went sub 17 for the first time ever, taking 13th in 16:41. Brad Glisczinski, Ethan Fisher and Matthew Kees rounded out our scoring, with Ethan going under 18 minutes for the first time in his career! Brennan ran in his first varsity race, running to a personal best as well. Cole Konczal led the JV squad, breaking the 19 minute barrier for the first time finishing 17th overall in 18:36. Joseph Hertel moves up to our 2nd man and is continuing to compete better. Nick Burgess and Frank Bevsek went under 20 minutes for the first time! Check out our home page for the results link for more detailed team results. It's awesome to see how much things are shuffling around and seeing new guys each week continue to break through, knowing there are no limits! We are very excited for October, and look to keep embracing each day and just having a blast being a team. This has been such a wonderful team to work with in my first year as head coach, and I look forward to every day with them! Here's the schedule for this week! Monday, September 24th - Practice @ 3:20 p.m. (No School Today). Guys doing lakefront run will be longer practice because of drive back etc. We plan to get running right away today with all guys! Here are guys doing lakefront (some will start and go all the way, some will start closer and do 6-7 miles still finishing by the lake, we will drop off staggered start with vans). Josh, Brad, Liam, Ethan F, Matt K, Brennan K, Kenny P, Joseph H, Cole K, Cole O, Frank B Joey, Nick B, Collin The rest of the guys will have normal practice @ the school. Tuesday - Friday - Normal Practices @ 3:20 p.m. Saturday/Sunday - Enjoy the off weekend. Kids will run on own, varsity will likely meet up for run on Sunday. Details will be discussed with guys. We are excited to travel to Winneconne and the Lake Breeze Golf Course this Saturday! This course hosts the 2018 NCAA Division III Cross Country National Championships among many other large races. It's a great and fast course and we are hoping for a bit better weather than last year for those that were around! So far, it appears to be much cooler. The Hale Boys will do very well this weekend, and we are looking to have a full and healthy 27 guys at the starting line! We also have a middle school boys team competing for West Allis! The bus will leave promptly at 6:45 a.m. this week in order to arrive in time for the 9:00 a.m. boys middle school race. The rest of the schedule can be found below, or in our Dates/Meet Info tab.
Angel Invite Recap! The boys varsity finished 10th and JV 8th in the Angel Invite this past weekend. We were without a few guys due to sickness, minor injury or for accountability reasons, so we are looking to have a full 27 out there this next week!! With some of the guys racing being under the weather, we had them out more conservative and used the race as a way to try and pack up and get a good workout in. We had some nice performances with Ethan Osowski getting back on track with a nice race in the JV race. Jack, Cole K, Joseph, Collin and Chase all set personal bests, while Joey Elliott had a nice seasonal best and has been progressing very well! On the varsity side, we were without Liam this week, but had a great performance from Josh starting out conservative and moving all the way up to 7th and looking strong! Brad was sick but wanted to race! Will be nice to have him healthy again this week. Cole K. fell down by the two mile but got back up and ran to a personal best! A true blood and guts effort for Cole. We are setting up nicely to run fastest this weekend and into October! We have built a ton of strength and are moving into our specific period of training and competing. Looking forward to some awesome races now and to make some new Hale CC history! We have a nice week planned below! Week 6 Workouts Lourdes Invitational Information |
