It's regional/sectional week! As usual, the boys are ready to go out and compete. I'm looking forward to some awesome performances and efforts, and am so proud of this season so far. Let's keep the season rolling and be confident in our abilities to race our best. Control what we can control, and as always, love yourself and your teammates. The love we spread is the key to pushing to new levels of greatness.
For the boys who ended their seasons last week, congratulations on a great year and for the guys coming back, great progress towards becoming better people and runners! This summer we have a great group that will have a lot of fun making themselves better, while pushing each other to do the unthinkable. As I've stressed, consistency is the key. Build healthy consistent miles, while following the training schedule. Train up a group and push yourself to run faster than you can imagine. Many will see a boost in mileage and effort as we chase extraordinary success as a team. Here are some key dates to be aware of! Tuesday, May 29th - Awards night in the Cafeteria Friday/Saturday June 1 and 2 - WIAA State meet @ UW-La Crosse Sunday, June 17th - Summer Kick off @ Coach Mach's. All incoming frosh are encouraged to attend as well! Monday, June 18th - Summer training starts up! Returners and incoming frosh, please make sure you sign up for our summer camp with Mr. Kramsky this week! Make it a great day! Surround yourself with the right friends and treat all people kindly. -Mach

Watching this group pack it up on Thursday's run and just roll was awesome. The progress has been amazing and it's exciting to watch. Our seniors our turning up the heat and are going to absolutely roll this next few weeks, I can't wait!! Our young boys are stepping up their game and showing they can run with anyone. Remember, there is no bar!
This week will be awesome. Here's some information below! Monday I am asking the 3 boys doing the steeplechase (Brent, Brad, Riley) to stay a tad later, as my good friend Zak Lutz will be coming to work with them on some technique and strategy. Zak was a 9:22 3,000 meter steeplechaser for MSOE. I'm focused on right now, but on Monday or Tuesday, I will meet with all returners for next fall to get out camp information and a calendar for summer training as well as next season. It's important to have these dates and be prepared for them ahead of time, as well as get kids signed up before I don't see them for a few weeks. Wednesday we have a JV meet at Pewaukee. Our distance guys have performed very well at this in the past, and I expect coming in a fresh and feeling fast, this year will be no different! Friday is our home Hale invitational. It is awesome because it is one of the only high school meets to feature a steeplechase! I take this event seriously because it's olympic an event! We may even watch a steeplechase video for fun before! No belly flops or you will do 800 pushups! Fish still owes me from last year... :) Saturday is JV Conference! This will be at Hart Park, and will be an awesome day!! Sunday, I am planning to meet for practice with the varsity guys. I will talk with them on a time that works or adjust if we need to go Saturday. Let's make it an awesome week in the classroom, and keep having a blast working hard at track! It's been an enjoyable group, and fun to watch you boys coming together and pushing each other. We are breaking down barriers and taking away the idea of 'standards'. There is no bar, and you guys dictate the direction we go. Stay aggressive, and stay goofy! Here's the week in fuller detail. We will do a solid effort Tuesday this week for Varsity! JV a mini effort Monday and then just racing this week! Week 10 -Mach |
