Finished up a short book titled "On Confidence" and took away some great quotes/lessons to life. A major trait in people is comparison and external validation, both of which can become destructive to the self. Be unique, be yourself and love your life.
Lesson 1: Nobody is immune to insecurities and nervousness even if they display it this way. Understand we are all people who make mistakes. Don't mistake any person as being perfect. "Other People must be as anxious, uncertain and wayward as we are." Lesson 2: We all have our own battles, and each of us is doing our best to live a good life. Show empathy. "Maturity means going from the myth of a person to a full recognition of their humanity." Lesson 3: Achievement and failure do not define who we are. "our achievements are not our being, and the failure of our actions does not presuppose failure of our entire selves." Lesson 4: Life is too short to worry about failure or embarrassment. Go out and live honestly. Lesson 5: We will have enemies, but cannot let them control what is false about us. "We cannot change the presence of an enemy, but we can change what an enemy means to us." "We will constantly be the target of anger, but we don't have to believe ourselves to be its true cause."

Week 1 was great! We had some guys show great leadership, and guys are learning to be comfortable around each other. Each day represents about two hours being together with some of your closest friends, all while working to be better each day! Always remember how awesome it is what we do here, and keep bringing love and positive energy!! Week two will be fun!
Week 2 Description Week 2 Workouts Spring is here. Okay, the weather may not appear that way, but the start of track and field signals the unofficial passage from winter. Each week I will have a detailed document for week goals and information for distance.
So distance guys are pretty amazing. This winter was cold and snowy, but we had many guys who aren't in a winter sport that were out running miles! Kudos to those guys as well as the guys who competed in wrestling, basketball or swimming! The older guys set a nice tone with daily consistency, and younger guys will keep improving over the coming years. Habits start by identifying yourself as who you want to be, so remember "you are who you choose to be!" Let's build on the positive habit of running and moving. We are committing as coaches to having a positive TEAM (everyone!) environment, and creating a fun and challenging environment. Our actions and character will drive our success, and our focus will be on shaping young men. A man we define as selfless and kind. A man is a good son, teammate, and friend. Many of these men will grow to be great husbands and fathers. Here's a detailed look at the week ahead! #NoLimits #SpreadLove Week 1 Letter Week 1 Workouts Nutrition / Sleep Info |
